SIMPLY SILLY : ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS

1. The Diddle that Dummed by Kes Gray & Fred Blunt

The Diddle that Dummed by Kes Gray and illustrated by Fred Blunt is perfect for our theme of Simply Silly. This story is filled with ‘hilarious wordplay and silliness’. Here is the link to the publisher’s teaching notes – some great printable activities:

And this blog has a nice idea how to read this book aloud:

2. Egg by Paul Linnet and Sue Hendra

Simply Silly and here is a book which has been described as: “A hilarious picture book about a non-conforming Egg”. Apparently this book is not like other books: “This is a book which will stretch your imagination, celebrate difference and fire up your storytelling brain. This is a book with just one word… Egg.”

We hope you and your class will enjoy this book and have a giggle. If you want learn more about it, check this blog post by Sandie Mourão
